UFC 205: McGregor vs. Alvarez Fight Predictions

To say the last few days have been challenging would be an understatement.  I fully expected on Monday morning that later in the week I would be writing a euphoric article about MMA returning to my beloved home state of New York and how sad I was to be 6500 miles away in Japan for this momentous occasion.  Instead......the world got flipped, turned upside down.  I still haven't recovered from the shock of a reality TV star (along with being a bigot and sexist) becoming the 45th President of the United States so I can't do euphoric.  Let's get to some picks.

UFC 202: Diaz v. McGregor II Predictions

UFC 202 may very well end up being the biggest pay per view the UFC has ever done. Going off the success of Diaz's/McGregor's first fight and the recent shit show that was their press event, it seems like the stars are starting to align themselves for a huge night of fights. The first time Diaz and McGregor threw down there was so many odd X factors going into that fight. Diaz was a super late replacement, had a very different fighting style from Conor's original opponent and they were fighting at 170 lbs. There was also a ton of trash talking before the fight which only increased interest which all lead to one hell of a fight. McGregor got bested in the end and has been obsessed with getting revenge ever since. This main event is really the driving force of this PPV, but there's still other notable fighters on the card like Anthony Johnson, Glover Teixeria, Donald Cerrone and Tim Means but really this is the Diaz McGregor show.

UFC: 196 McGregor vs Diaz Picks and Predictions

UFC 196: McGregor vs Diaz, aka UFC 196: WTF, is almost upon us. A few weeks ago we thought we were getting a champion vs champion superfight between Jose Aldo and Anthony Pet... I mean Conor McGregor and Rafael Dos Anjos. Red panties sales were about to go through the roof. But like all Brazilians who are about to face Conor, injuries happen and that fight will have to be shelved for another day. Enter welterweight Nate Diaz. If I have two takeaways from all the media in the build up and hype for this fight, it is that Nate doesn't give a SH*T, and that now that he is a rich person, he is going to buy all kinds of nice sh*t. The war of words has been fun, and I'm not going to deny, Nate seems to be the very first person to get under the skin of Conor with his "everyone is on steroids" statements. It's going to be interesting, and it is definitely going to be fun. Co-headlining the event is The Devourer of Rondas and the perennial runner up. Holly Holm makes her first defense since she shocked the world, and now is her moment to cement her place. One hit wonder? Or hit maker? Find out Saturday night! But until then, read our picks!

Conor McGregor vs Nate Diaz
When Nate decided to test the reaction time of the UFC's bleep button guy not that long ago, while fun, I don't think most of expected it to really come to fruition any time soon. These men weren't really on a collision course based on the tracks they were on at the time. Yet here we are, a boy howdy it IS exactly as fun as any of us could have hoped it would be. The joke was that after taking Dos Anjos belt, Conor would gun for Robbie's, and now we have a welterweight bout that is actually going to tell us something about how he looks at this class. Look, if you are reading this then you know this blog rides with the Diaz brothers. Our love and respect for them is solid. But Conor is something else. We've seen Nate defeated on the feet. He was kicked repeatedly by Josh Thomson and a toothpick dispensing Benson Henderson was thigh punching him all night long. Nate's range and boxing is a tall order for any fighter, but Conor's everything is an ordeal as well. I don't recall when Conor said he'd end it, but he will end it. Conor by KO late R1.

There's only ONE Conor McGregor: Kid P, Gooms, Doc Law
I don't give a SH*T: DJ Mark

UFC 194: Aldo vs. McGregor Picks and Predictions

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, people of all ages... we are finally here! Well... almost. It wasn't all long that ago that we said the featherweight division was devoid of stars and now it houses quite possibly the biggest fight the UFC can make on quite possibly the best card the UFC has ever put together. Anticipation for Aldo and McGregor is palpable after an initial postponement at what was supposed to be an It's MMAzing event out in Vegas. Mendes stepped in to fight McGregor as we all know and the legend continues. Somehow lost in all of this hullabaloo is a spectacular middleweight title fight between Chris Weidman and Luke Rockhold. Rockhold has been on one of the most impressive tears in recent memory while Weidman is the Anointed One, Vanquisher of Spiders, and reigning greatest fighter on the planet. Saturday night is bringing a stacked card with great fighters, but let's be real here... there is only ONE Conor McGregor.

UFC Featherweight Championship
Jose Aldo (c) vs. Conor McGregor (ic)
@thenotoriousmma you look great

No... Notorious! It's a real credit to the man Conor that he managed to steal center stage from a monster of a man who has been without peer for nearly his entire Zuffa run in Jose Aldo. Aldo has been a human highlight reel of violence in his reign, yet in struts this brash Irishman who has stolen the hearts (and betting lines) of the masses. Aldo is a killer in the cage, yet something about McGregor seems so effortless and masterful. Listen to Conor long enough and you will surely hear about the art of movement and that is precisely what Conor is in the cage: an artist. Could the hype train come crashing down? Absolutely. Could we see the coronation of the one true king? I'm expecting it. It's not that long ago we saw what movement and fluidity could do to stifle a heralded Brazilian killer in Renan Barao, Jose Aldo's teammate no less. McGregor by third round TKO. Bust out the red panties.

Aldo:
McGregor: U... Unanimous!

UFC 189: Mendes vs. McGregor Predictions

Life is full of disappointments.  The Knicks and Jets being absolutely horrid, the ending of The Sopranos, any of the Matrix sequels.  Last week we were able to add another disappointment when we learned that Aldo vs. McGregor, the dream fight we had all been waiting for, that 3/4 of crew (along with Phil) were making a trek Hangover-style to Vegas to watch had evaporated into the ether when the champ Aldo was forced to withdraw from his about with a broken rib.  But life is about how you deal with those disappointments.  While the guys won't get to watch Aldo fight the most electrifying and "Notorious" Irishman the world has ever seen, they still get to watch McGregor go against the second-best featherweight in Chad Mendes for a fake belt.

UFC Fight Night: McGregor v. Siver Fight Picks and Analysis: a NOTORIOUS affair

This card has two fights I'm looking forward to....that's it.  On most nights that's a recipe for a card I don't want to watch, but that speaks to the star power that Conor McGregor possesses.  He makes a sh*t card into must-see TV.

Conor McGregor v. Dennis Siver

Are we even sure that Dennis Siver knows he's fighting this weekend?  In all the press leading up to this fight Mr. Siver has not been heard from.  Someone should make sure he bought his plane ticket and got him some fight trunks.  Everyone who fights Siver has to respect the power in his spinning back kick, but let's be real, this fight will serve as nothing more than a stepping stone for The Notorious One.  With each fight McGregor further shows what all of the hype is about and it won't be any different against a fighter who at this point in his career is more name talent than actual talent.  McGreger by TKO in 1st round.

McGregor: All of us
Siver:
